Meet The Instructor

Christine Savidge is a violinist and educator with 20-plus years of experience teaching violin, viola, and piano. She studied Music Education and Violin Performance at Ball State University, where she cultivated her passion for helping students become confident, skilled musicians. Her teaching is shaped by her training with both Suzuki and traditional violin teachers, allowing her to draw from a wide range of pedagogical styles. As part of a long tradition of teachers dedicated to strong technique and musicality, she created Exploring Strings. This vibrant string method is both engaging and visually appealing, while incorporating music theory, history, and other relevant content. When she is not teaching or performing in local symphonies, Christine enjoys gardening, dancing, and going on new adventures with friends.

Lesson Info

  • weekly lessons and encouragement
  • performance opportunities
  • help finding the right instrument

At any given time, students are usually working on 3 things: a skill exercise, a new song, and a “review song”. Skill exercises can be a scale or a new technique that we are working on. The new song might be from the student’s lesson book or the theme song from their favorite movie. “Review Songs” are pieces the student already knows, but are playing again to improve and perhaps tryout that new skill they just learned.

  • $35/half hour lesson
  • $52.5/ 45 minute lesson
  • $70/one hour lesson

Beginners will usually want to start out with half-hour lessons. After a couple years, more advanced students and adults may want longer lessons since they are already comfortable playing their instrument and are able to cover more material in one session.

There are no registration or recital fees.
